Providence County Farm Tours
in collaboration with Northern RI Conservation District!
These free farm tours are a fun collaboration with the Northern RI Conservation District that focus on growers in Providence County, Rhode Island. These are day long tours consisting of 2-3 farms per event. We meet at a centralized location (typically an easy-to-get-to spot in Providence), hop on bus and ride together to the first farm. From there, the farmer gives us a tour of their space, explains their growing practices and hones in on a certain topic of their choosing. We then share lunch together (provided by YFN & NRCD), hop on the bus, and head our way to the next farm! The days typically go from 9:30-3 and full of new community connections and shared skills.

Open fARMS Retreat & TransFARMative
Join us for a day on local farms as we learn about supportive community spaces in Providence County! On SATURDAY, September 14th, 2024 from 9:45AM - 3:30PM, we will be taking tours of Open Farms Retreat and TransFARMactive Community Garden at Burgess Farm. These tours will be paired with activity’s. Free bus transportation for the day and on-site child care is provided. Bus registration will be first-come-first serve. Free lunch will be provided. ¡Únase a nosotros para pasar un día en granjas locales mientras aprendemos sobre los espacios comunitarios de apoyo en el condado de Providence! El SÁBADO 14 de septiembre del 2024, de 9:45 a.m. a 3:30 p.m., realizaremos recorridos por Open Farms Retreat y TransFARMactive Community Garden en Burgess Farm. Estos recorridos se combinarán con actividades. Se proporcionará transporte en autobús gratuito durante el día y cuidado de niños en el sitio.
